Late Bottled Vintage, as the name suggests, is bottled later, remaining in wood between four and six years.
During this relatively long period of wood ageing, an LBV matures and settles down - it is ready to drink when bottled, it does not need to be decanted and can be served by the glass for several weeks after the cork is drawn.
Serving Suggestions: The wine benefits from being served slightly chilled, between 12º-16ºC.
The bottle should be kept upright, protected from light and at a cool and constant temperature.
Food Pairing: Taylor’s Late Bottled Vintage Port is elegant and fruity, displaying the heritage of the great Taylor’s Vintages it makes an excellent match for a goat’s milk cheese such as a fresh Valençay, or a Sainte-Maure.
As the thick crumbly texture of the chèvre dissolves in contact with the wine, the ripe and opulent fruitiness of the LBV merges with the rich tangy flavours of the cheese in sublime synergy.
